Karlie Kloss has spoken about her experiences with two of fashion's biggest names:Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
"Alexander McQueen once told me before I went out on the runway - I was wearing a dress that was very long and difficult to walk in, and I was concerned the dress was going to get caught on my shoe - 'Don't worry, Karlie; if it does, just take it off and throw it, throw the dress. Remember - YOU own the dress, the dress does not own you!' It was a moment I will never forget."
Her most treasured possession, she admits, is her "Dior bag from John Galliano. He gave it to me after we shot my first campaign with Steven Meisel, and I cried when I opened it. It is the most beautiful, timeless Dior bag. It is such a special reminder of that time in my career; someday I will give it to my daughter."

More than Minimalism

Picture
Raf Simons has spoken about his arrival at Dior, insisting that talk of a new age of minimalism at the famously feminine house is inaccurate.

The Belgian designer - who arrived in Paris today to begin work on his first Dior collection, set to be shown at Couture Week in July - added that, whilst the watchword of his time at Jil Sander was "purism," his main inspiration at Dior will be "femininity...because it's beautiful, endless and permanent".

To celebrate - and commiserate - the arrival of the very last D&G collection, My-Wardrobe's buyers have collaborated with the soon-to-be-shuttered label to secure several catwalk pieces exclusively.
"We are extremely sad to see the closure of the D&G line," the site's buying director, Luisa De Paula, told us. "The collections, and in particular the shows in Milan made fashion fun and was always one to look forward to every season."
Available on MY-WARDROBE.COM today, the exclusive collection includes a skirt and shirt seen on the catwalk and a range of covetable accessories - but D&G fans needn't despair, there will be something to fill the void come next season.
"For autumn/winter 2012-13 we have bought into Just Cavalli and MSGM to allow us to continue to offer the playful femininity and flair associated with D&G," De Paula explained. "MSGM offers a brilliant collection of vibrant colour and lace pieces, while Just Cavalli is perfect for statement print pieces."
