Carr leaves pringle

Alistair Carr is leaving Pringle of Scotland after spending just over a year as its design director. The British label's future collections will be created by its existing in-house team.
"I want to thank Alistair for all his great efforts and contributions at Pringle," the brand's CEO Jean Fang told WWD. "We will miss him, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
Fang described Carr's departure as a "mutual decision" and also said that Pringle will show its forthcoming ready-to-wear offerings via presentation rather than on the catwalk. Carr will still art direct the brand's autumn/winter 2012-13 campaign and will show his spring/summer 2013 menswear collection in mid-June.
The designer joined the brand in March 2011, having worked at Balenciaga under Nicolas Ghesquière, Marni, and Chloé. He also showed his own label at London Fashion Week for three seasons.

Dressing Kate

Rebbeca Taylor received the ultimate royal seal of approval today from none other than the Duchess of Cambridge. The young royal wore a blue tweed two-piece suit from the New York-based label's pre autumn/winter 2012-13 collection at a reception to honour the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole, at London's Goldsmiths Hall today.
"I got out of the elevator this morning and my team had stuck a picture of her wearing the outfit on the wall opposite," Taylor told vogue . "I am a Catherine Middleton freak - ever since she came on the scene I said: 'I want to dress that girl.' It's a dream come true."
Taylor's team were contacted by St James' Palace in February and expressed that the Duchess was a fan of the brand and requested to see a selection of clothes - paid for by the Palace. The designer was later sent a letter of thanks, which she plans on having framed along with the relating cheque. Taylor is so lucky!!!

Beyonces baby look

It seems having a baby isn't just a lifestyle choice, but a trend with Beyoncé following in the footsteps of Natalie Portman and explaining how her newborn baby has changed the way she dresses. Other stars to made recent headlines for their baby news include Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, who posed naked with her bump for a Vivara's jewellery campaign; Adriana Lima, who announced in March that she is expecting; Uma Thurman, who confirmed that she is pregnant with her third child last month;Sienna Miller, who is having her first child with boyfriend Tom Sturridge; and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, who showcased her baby bump at theTime 100 Gala on Tuesday night.
"I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn't wear heels," Beyoncé told People. "Now that I have a child, and I walk around holding her all day, I'm buying loafers and oxfords. [Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising - he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural - just the relaxed, natural me."

Beckham Millions

Unsurprisingly, David and Victoria Beckham have made it onto The Sunday Times 2012 Rich List. This morning, the newspaper published the music category of its annual chart - the Beckhams ranked at joint 10th with earnings of £20 million in the past 12 months, the same amount as Mick Jagger and Daniel Ek - the founder of Spotify. Record label mogul Clive Calder, who is responsible for the careers of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys, topped the category with £1,350 million. The full list is out this weekend.

Alien Gaga

Lady Gaga will make her film debut in Men in Black 3. Although it is unclear whether the style icon will appear as herself or as a character, as Michael Jackson did in Men in Black 2, director Barry Sonnenfeld confirmed that she will appear on an alien surveillance board - alongside Tim Burton and Justin Bieber.

Klums new baby

Heidi klum has teamed up with Babies 'R' Us - the infant department of Toys 'R' Us - to create a new children's collection, Truly Scrumptious, which will launch this September. But, the range stretches further than the realms of fashion.
"I made beds, curtains, blankets, washcloths, bath toys, wall decals, lamps, rugs, hampers, stuffed animals, security blankets and night lights," said the mother of four. "If you think about the nursery, I'm doing everything."
Nonetheless, the model has also stuck with what she knows best.
"I tackle everything from shoes, socks, underwear and pyjamas to dresses, jeans, leggings and sweaters," she said.

Cinderella Louboutin

Louboutin is living a fairytale dream by adding his unique take to Cinderella's glass slipper. The famous shoe designer's creations will be unveiled this summer, in celebration of Walt Disney's re-release of theCinderella on DVD and Blu-ray this autumn.
"I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world," Louboutin told WWD.
In other Louboutin news, the designer is opening his first dedicated retrospective at the Design Museum on Monday, followed by a star-studded after-party held at The Ivy - with guests thought to include Daphne Guinness, Diane von Furstenberg and Dita Von Teese.
