Fashion MatchMakers

Picture
Despite parting ways romantically in 2005, it seems Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have played cupid to a number of couples over the years  and they've been sent evidence from their customers to prove it."We get many letters from people who say, thanks to you I found my husband, or my lover," said Gabbana. "They send us wedding pictures."
Regardless of the fact that they have not been a couple for several years, it seems that the design duo aren't likely to take their professional and personal bond for granted anytime soon.

Introducing CR

Picture
Carine Roitfeld has revealed that her new magazine will be named CR Fashion Book, after her own initials - the handwritten signature with which she signed off her editor's letters during a decade at French Vogue.
"The name's not a big surprise, but oh well," Roitfeld told WWD, before describing the publication as a "celebration of fashion and creativity" with contributions from a mix of well-known and new fashion talents.
"Vogue is a very beautiful magazine, an institution, and I learned so much working there," she said of her former employer. "You can't put yourself into competition with a magazine like Vogue; you have to create something new, something different."
The magazine - produced out of offices at The Standard hotel in New York's East Village - will be priced at around £6, and more than half of its 50,000 copies will be distributed in Europe, with the balance in the US and Asia. The magazine will also have an online presence, representing the "front of book" elements - focusing on art, culture and fashion - which will not be present in the quarterly print version.
"It's like a new baby," Roitfeld said of the magazine, before acknowledging that there will be another, more literal, baby in her life soon when daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld gives birth next month. "I will be babushka [Russian for grandmother] in six weeks,"
