Berge blessing

Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent's former partner, has spoken for the first time about the appointment of Hedi Slimane at the YSL helm - and has acknowledged the challenge he has before him.
"It's a great problem, very complicated, to recreate the work of a genius. Like trying to rewrite Faulkner," Bergé told T Magazine. "To put your stamp on the name of Yves Saint Laurent requires someone who has talent, conviction, rigor, a demanding nature and a great sense of colour."

The new carrie

The new Carrie Bradshaw, AnnaSophia Robb, has been filming in New York again this weekend - showing off an array of outfits that are precisely what we imagine Carrie would wear in the Eighties: her usual feminine colourful creations, turned up a notch.

New Man?

model Baptiste Giabiconi has confirmed his rumoured romance with almost-divorced singer Katy Perry, via a statement from his publicist.
"It's new, they're feeling it out, but they're spending a lot of time together," a representative for Giabiconi told the New York Post.
The French-born model and singer - who is a favourite model and close friend of designer Karl Lagerfeld - is reportedly considering a move to Los Angeles, both to further his career and to be closer to Perry.

Tough Man Karl

KARL LAGERFELD has hit back at US magazineNewsweek and its editor, Tina Brown, after one its journalists - Robin Givhan - described him as "overrated" in a profile piece published in January. Brown previously worked as editor-in-chief at Vanity Fair, before joining Newsweek in 2010.
"First of all, Tina Brown's magazine is not doing well at all," he said in a press conference on Friday, WWD reports. "She is dying [professionally]. I'm sorry for Tina Brown, who was such a success at Vanity Fair, to go down with a shitty little paper like this. I'm sorry."
Brown shrugged off Lagerfeld's comments, responding with a Tweet: "The Kaiser doth protest too much! 'Diet issue?' Newsweek ads up 27 percent for Q1."

Joile's response

Angelina Joile's right leg may have stolen the show at this year's Oscars, even gaining a devoted Twitter page, but the actress herself couldn't care less about the attention she received. The star's leg became one of the night's most talked-about subjects, after she exposed it from beneath the thigh-high split of her black Atelier Versace dress.

Campbell cited

NAOMI CAMPBELL's representatives have refused to comment on reports that she has been named in her boyfriend Vladimir Doronin's divorce papers.
Campbell and Doronin - a Russian property billionaire - began dating in 2008 after meeting at the Cannes Film Festival, reportedly 10 years after he separated from his wife. He and wife Ekaterina have been married for 24 years and have a 15-year-old daughter, Katia, together.
"Naomi is pleased that Ekaterina has finally agreed to give Vladimir a divorce, but she is upset she is planning on blaming her for the marriage breakdown. She's no homewrecker," a source told the Mail on Sunday. "The truth is that Vladimir had been separated from her for a very long time when he and Naomi got together."
