We all know what to expect at a DKNY resort collection cute,girly,commercial new york girl clothes perfect for that young intern at marie clarie mag ;) This resort collection was not much different the show started with great work black looks my favorite was a lace jacket and skirt with a cute print blouse. There was a lot of work clothes for that PLAIN girl she isn't rocking that mcqueen jacket she's wearing a dull black blazer or plain purple dress with a little black that kind of annoyed me everything in this collection was been there done that lets try something new! I found the furs more fun and eccentric because its resort this girl just wants to wear that fur bitch, how fab! The party looks were nothing new but cute very blake lively 2008 WHEN THAT LOOK WAS IN! But looking at these looks its not totes cringe ehh its cute but boring but its resort! But chanel,bottega and erdem were all fab whats your excuse DKNY?? But love this line and its girl but can this girl be a little more exciting during resort season! BTW not totes dissing this collection, well maybe i am but i dont think its ugly it kind of works but " commercial boredom" is my caption for this collection! What did you think???
Erdems resort show was a fabulous success every look was adored by buyers drooling over the commercial elegance of them. The dress are so wearable because its resort but they also have that very vibrant aesthetic pleasing look which is just as fab as a pret a porter collection! It was Erdem do what he does best and i love how he can doe it every season and make it look so different and fresh but also very timeless, ITS FLORALS!! This season they were mixed and matched with paisleys and plaids with absolutely indulgent lace,sheer and print items! Its so beautiful and ladylike, these images scream it! Lets talk shoes shoes shoes! one of my favorite things about this collection. Floral chunky heel platforms incredible fabulous prefect for your floral wardrobe, i would wear them with minimalist white look to really show off how fab they are there statement but can be understated which is perfect for a women's everyday wardrobe, somedays it Drama and look at me others its i want something elegant and chic that will go perfectly with my floral summer dress ;) The dresses were fit for a princess or maybe DUCHESS ;) ,they had power,femininity and most importantly beauty to them! The prints were so indulgent because they filled the whole look it was like a vast palace garden on a summers day just beginning to shown there true rich colors right before my eyes! And other dresses were more minimalist it was white with a little blue or a whine tone with the floral bordering it! The dresses were summer fresh bright but not to bright, the two lace looks i found myself dying over so delight and beautiful perfect for a summer garden party, a fabulous wedding or summer in paris! The grand finale was absolutely breath taking those gowns were just perfect perfect for that erdem girl how could you go wrong when you were one of those gowns they are just c'est manifique but yet have so little frills there minimalist its just a chic simple silhouette and a floral print that trumps any other with its regal elegant presence. Beauty,Femininity,RegaL and ladylike are the words that this collection represents its totes erdem and easy to wear beautiful so commercial prefect for resort and is a major success will certainly be wishlisting it on net a porter during resort season!
This years oscar de la renta resort collection was a mixture of 3 things old school 50s couture,retro 80s power woman and the new modern and fresh oscar girl all merged into one fabulous collection! The show started with simple easy summery ready to wear pieces such as cute print jumpsuit,shorts and blazer and several summer flowing dresses. I loved the elegant tweed and lace dresses and some of those cute tweed jackets! This collection was the first time oscar has every done a photography print which i thought was him growing into the modern times!! But the oscar de la renta customer is not the cool downtown girl but the preppy upper east sider young,rich and very elegant and oscar also would be a favorite of her mothers the wealthy upper east side power women is another oscar girl there were fab items for all of them. The sequenced skirts and glittering tops for the young girl, the floral and tweed dresses for the older oscar woman!!! I saw a hint of 80s oscar there was a slight tilt to the retro 80s some where oscar is most comfortable this woman was power and glamour!! Me being oh so old school i loved with a passion the glamorous 50s couture inspired looks the ruffles,lace,tulle sequenced all so fab!! I particularly liked a elegant red lace tulle dress which was the mix of new and old the neckline was sporty and fresh the skirt was couture heaven it was fab!! I also dyed for the OSCAR GOWNS!! The draped red was sexy and summery, the golden tule sequence gown was classic oscar fairy-tale moment and the final look of the show was a fab black and white tulle print gown it was classic couture and heaven also oscar was mixing the new old and the formal and the casual in one of my fav looks of the show it was a sequenced biege sweater worn with fab metallic silver pleat skirt i thought it was cute casual and very young!! I saw a little audrey hepburn,a little blair waldrof and a little michelle obama in this collection classic,young and very oscar!!!
I know my view on the chanel collection was a disaster so lets here what the genius himself has to say!!
Where to start on this much anticipated 71 look chanel cruise collection??? Lets start with the show the spectacle that is chanel! The show was held at the palace versailles and it was an elegant and chic affair with the string quartet regal fountains and a selection of the finest orderves and french pastries then the show started and there was an intolerable contrast with Mia's "bad girls" playing along with "that g string track" it was cool fresh and amazingly chic! The grounds made for the prefect backdrop for these fabulous fashions! I think the collection was in a sentence "21st century teenage marie antoinette!" The collection had all the opulent i regal flourishes from the ruffles to the encrusted jeweled looks and also all of those couture details that was totes marie antoinette but there was also a 21st century girl that karl has cleverly created. This modern day teenage princess was rock n roll and rebellious she as a modern street style shoe which i just simply adore its so fab!!!! The metallic funky style shoes creates a young fresh look but i just love how it contrasts with the regal chanel look its styled with!!! The looks had a baroque feel and had such beutiful soft pastel tones which were beautiful to look at! The collection had fabulous pieces that could be very commercial such as all of the fab tweed jackets,the swimsuits and some of the dresses could work really well as work clothes. The collection brightened up an even brighter day and i apologize if this review is complete shit which it is but im a little rusty its been 8 weeks since i've done a show report my last chanel report was over 500 words this garbage is only around 300 but dont you really just love these looks chanel can do no wrong in my eyes and this collection is a prefect reason for why i love chanel its just hard to put into words which is bad for me because thats what im supposed to be doing!
It feels just like yesterday the fall collections but it was really 8 weeks since the last show in paris and its officially resort time! The season is just as big as the ready wear ones now as it has gained a reputation as being more than just commercial and boring but a actually fabulous fashion spectacular. Its always been the buyers season but now everyone from vogue magazine pay close attention to the fab fashion and the resort shows act as a great prediction for spring. I call it mini fashion season the collections are smaller and shown in small presentations, this bottega veneta collection was a small 25 piece collection it was simple but desirable there were some fab prints which were in subdued but still refreshing tones. The collection was very commercial as it is during resort and i saw some fab pieces which are prefect for your pre spring wardrobe notable favs were a jersey grey maxi styled with sandals its causal cool and a little chic! I also loved the florals the dresses are prefect for your everyday wardrobe and a prefect work look which isn't all business! I didnt like the lacking in color i wanted something bright thats bold and a statement like last years resort show! But still the fashions were sporty,easy,commercial,casual and subdued.
